Medotics AG has developed a Face Recognition API to be used with Android mobile devices. It is a user-friendly interface designed with computational efficiency making it ideal for smart phone and tablets.

The API connects to the device's pre-installed cameras (front or rear for cell phones) and captures images. It then detects faces displayed on the images and runs a smart algorithm that matches the faces to corresponding ones from a database with calibrated users.

The API can be advantaged by a variety of applications. For devices with multiple users the API can tune configuration preferences for each user. For gadgets used by minors it can block non-appropriate functionality. It can also perform preliminary security check to allow access to private data for certain users.

With more than a billion Android devices on market our Face Recognition API gives to developers the opportunity to easily build user-based smart applications.
